December 7 started out with my doctor's appointment and that led me to the hospital. I was 7cm dilated so my doctor decided to get things moving along. By the time I got to the hospital I was having some mild cramping/contractions. I soon got my epidural and just waited comfortably. I then got some pitocin and things started to progress quickly. Next thing I knew it was time to push. A couple pushes later and we had a baby. Very smooth, pleasant experience. We are thrilled to add him to our family and Evan is a great big brother. Still adjusting of course. Things are new and different around here but it shouldn't take long to get used to our new little bundle. Here are some pictures of our new little munchkin.

Christmas Decor

Finally got everything decorated yesterday inside and out. I didn't go too crazy decorating because I know the more I put out the more I have to put away later. That could be difficult with the new munchkin around. I also put a tree in Evan's room. He really likes it. We are definitely festive!

Baby Update

We saw the doctor today and had our last look at the baby before it arrives. It is measuring small which is good for me. It's not predicted to be really big but just in case we are scheduled to be induced December 13 unless it decides to come sooner. Very exciting! Eric is home for Thanksgiving tomorrow and Friday so I'm sure he'll be completing projects on his to do list all weekend. We can't wait to meet the new Emery!

Busy Preparing for Baby

I have gotten so behind in my blogging! I have some Halloween pictures and a couple pictures of the baby's room. My mom was here for a month helping me get lots of things done around here before munchkin comes. I haven't taken any pictures of Evan's room yet but we hung a wallpaper boarder of trucks in there and organized his toys with some under the window shelves. It came out great! In the baby's room we painted a 12 inch stripe around the room and hung up turtles all around. I am very pleased with how everything came together. We also did several loads of laundry so the baby will have nice clean clothes. Lots of neutral things and some of Evan's clothes in case it's a boy.

I've had a pretty good start on Christmas shopping and feeling like I should be finished soon. I'm keeping it simple and I want it done ASAP so I don't have to worry about it come December. Obviously Santa is bringing some things as well. ;)

I am 35 weeks now and I am ready....at least physically. Starting to feel uncomfortable and my energy is definitely low. It doesn't help having a high energy 3 year old but he's been great. I got Evan a baby doll. He was very excited about it and he sleeps with it and carries it around. I've asked him the name of the baby and he says basketball. Go figure. We talk about being gentle with the baby and that babies cry and they drink milk etc. I think he's going to be a great big brother but I'm sure he'll have his moments. It will definitely be exciting around here in a few weeks.

I went to a website and set up a baby guessing game so our friends and family can make their prediction. It's silly but should be fun too. Check it out!

Eric and I went to a Halloween party and I found the idea for our costumes online. I didn't have many options and I thought this was perfect for my big belly. The costumes were a big hit! Everyone loved them!

The Enchanted Maize

I have been wanting to take Evan to a pumpkin patch and yesterday we went to the Enchanted Maize. Unfortunately there was no pumpkin patch but there were a lot of fun things to do. We went on a hay ride, walked through the corn maize and Evan jumped in a blow up jumper. It was a great day and we had lots of fun.

Evan had a Pumpkin Patch Party at his school last week. Lots of little pumpkins to decorate, bubbles, crafts and lunch. He really likes school and the party was a big hit. I was able to go with him and participate in all the pumpkin festivities.

Evan loves his tricycle. He always wants to ride. I wish we had a driveway for him to ride it more. Right now he rides it on our front porch.

I had to have one these printed for his teacher. She's putting together a little book of the kids and needed a picture of him doing something he couldn't do when he was a baby. He loves preschool. He asks to go all the time. I am so glad that he enjoys it.

Bear Picnic

Evan's class had a bear picnic on Thursday. They have been reading different bear books the last couple weeks. The kids were able to bring their bear to school for the picnic. Evan was thrilled to take his bear to school! He really enjoyed it.

Quick story behind this bear. My friend Jessica (who I've known my whole life) gave me this bear sometime when I was in middle school (I think). I could never get rid of it. It just had some sort of sentimental value to me. When Jessica had her daughter Laura, I gave her the bear back so Laura could enjoy it. Then later when I found out I was pregnant with Evan, Jessica gave me the bear back for him. This bear will always be in the family in some kind of way and may be passed down to other future children. That would be neat. He will always be with us. :)

The tree that we relocated back in February didn't make it. Eric tried everything to keep it alive but it died anyway. It is still standing and right now it looks like a giant twig sticking out of ground. I wish he would cut it down. Anyway, our neighbors thought it would be funny to decorate the tree as a joke. We came home one night and saw the lights on the tree. It's our very own Charlie Brown Christmas tree. It was a pretty funny joke.

I got Evan a basketball goal as a birthday gift. It's one that hangs on the back of a door. I put it up on his bedroom door and he loves it! I never thought he would like it as much as he does. Definitely a big hit!

First Day of Preschool

Evan started preschool on the 18th. The first day started out a little rough since Evan didn't want to go into his classroom. He cried some but the teacher distracted him and he eventually had a great day. He only goes Tuesday and Thursday so today was his third. It's getting better and he actually walked in on his own today. Soon he'll be running in forgetting to give us hugs. We're very happy that he is enjoying preschool. He is so big!

We took Evan to the Museum yesterday to celebrate his birthday. They have a lot of hands on and exciting things for kids. Evan really had a great time. His favorite thing was sliding on the tunnel slide. He did it over and over. He was definitely exhausted when we were through.

After Discovery and a much needed nap, we had some chips, cookies and gifts to finish the celebration. It was a great day!

New Swing Set

The grandparents got Evan a swing set for his 3rd birthday. Eric spent most of today putting the beast together. Evan got to try out part of it while Eric finished assembling it. He liked it. We did a pre-celebration Birthday for Evan in Pensacola. It started out fine and then he had a melt down. Luckily I got some pictures of him before he lost it. He had one bite of cake and that was it. He wasn't really impressed. Everyone else enjoyed it. The cake was yummy!

Swimming and Boating

Evan and I went to Pensacola recently and had a great visit with my parents. We took him swimming and he loved it! He was a little slow at first to get in but once he was in and realized the freedom he had, he became a little fish!

We also went out on the river in my dad's boat. Again, Evan did not want to get in and was pretty scared. He eventually calmed down and enjoyed it. I think he started to get a little motion sickness but I'm not sure. It was a quick boat ride.

In case you don't get it from looking at the picture, Evan is going to be a Big Brother! We found out in April that we are adding one more munchkin to our family. Baby Emery is due December 2011! We are excited and nervous at the same time. This baby is going to be another surprise so we'll have to wait until it's arrival to find out if it's a boy or girl!

Pensacola Trip

Evan and I went to Pensacola for a nice long visit. The weather was unusually nice down there. Evan really love pushing the button to open the garage doors. He would go every morning with my mom to get the newspaper just so he could push the button. We spent a lot of time in the garage as strange as that sounds. He climbed on my dad's mower constantly. He has an obsession with mowers! He got in the pool and played with Aunt Gulya. We took him to the park one day. That was fun for awhile. All Evan wanted to do was swing. Over and over I pushed him. Finally I told it was time to go so we got in the car and left. A few minutes later he puked all over himself! I guess he had too much swinging and it made him sick. We won't do that again!! Other than that, we had a great time!!

Eric and I recently celebrated our 5 year anniversary April 29! My parents came into town weekend before so we went out to dinner while Grandma and Grandpa stayed with Evan. It was a nice quite dinner. Can't believe it's been 5 years! So much has happened!!

I never thought I would ever be driving a minivan but we are official owners of a Honda Odyssey! This thing is awesome! Moving the Tree

Today Eric and our friend Luke moved the big tree that was in front of our porch. It was getting too big, and it covered up one of the columns. We have been wanting to relocate it for quite some time and finally got to it today. It was a beast! We are hoping that it will survive in it's new home on the other side of our driveway. It looks much better there (and bigger too)! We are going to do some landscaping soon around the front of the house and we're going to do it ourselves. That should be interesting. It definitely needs some attention. I will get pictures of our progress. I'm really looking forward to landscaping!

The other day I put a blanket on top of the jumper and said night-night for jumper. I just wanted to see his reaction when he got inside. Evan went and got a bunch of his stuffed animals (like he always does) and put them in the jumper. He was excited about having them in there. He rolled around and plopped down on the big pile of animals. After awhile he got tired of them in there and threw them out so he could jump again. He's so silly!

We had a ton of snow fall overnight. Not really a ton but more than we've had before. About 4 or 5 inches! We borrowed Jackson's boots for Evan. He's the 4 year old that lives a couple houses down. The boots are a size 13 so they were huge on Evan. They looked like big clown shoes on him. We went outside but didn't stay out there long. He was freezing! He had a hard time walking in the snow. I was still able to get some pictures. Hopefully I can get him back out there later!

We went to Skip and Jennifer's house for Christmas Eve. They are expecting their first baby in April. Super nice couple! It was a nice visit with yummy food! Evan had a great time running around and eating too. We had very good time.

After we got home, we got Evan ready for bed and then put some cookies out for Santa. I think Evan thought he was getting a cookie but I kept telling him that they are for Santa. He really didn't mind that he didn't get a cookie. He doesn't understand that Santa is coming but I thought it would still be fun to leave cookies anyway. Maybe it will sink in! I am looking forward to his reaction in the morning when he sees everything under the tree! I have to charge my cameras so I can get lots of pictures!!

New King Comforter

The new furniture that we got has a king size bed. Sometime in the future we will get a king mattress. I found this comforter that I like (plus it was a good deal) and it blends well with the red accent wall in our room. It's not the exact red but it's very hard to see a difference. I think it will be good!

I think they turned out great. I was a little unsure of the color at first because the paint can says Dark Bronze but they look dark pewter. They look good with the black furniture. They definitely look much better!

I took Evan to see Santa this morning and that wasn't a pleasant experience. He cried! I didn't think he would like sitting on his lap but I didn't expect major tears. Great Thrift Store Purchase

Eric and I recently got some grown-up furniture for our room! It looks so much better in here! Now I'm just finishing up some little details. One of the lamps we already had and the other one I got at Salvation Army for $5! They are different but have a similar look which is what I like about them. I plan on spray painting them a dark bronze and getting matching lamp shades. The shades that are in the picture I bought and returned yesterday. I wasn't happy with them. I will get pictures of them painted with new shades.

We should be moving into the office this weekend (fingers crossed)! Once we get things in place I will get pics of the new bedroom furniture. I'm so excited!

Simple Blue and Silver Christmas

I wasn't able to get too crazy with decorations since we have little hands that like to touch and pull things! I think I did a pretty good job. I could easily do more! It's so fun!

I have turned into a Thrift Store junkie! I looked for holiday decorating ideas on the internet and was amazed at how many people shop thrift stores and turn cheap things into nice pieces! I am definitely inspired! Most of my decor has come from Dollar Tree, Big Lots, Thrift Stores and things I already had.

There are no stockings hanging from the fireplace for same thing I mentioned before (little hands). I haven't decided where I'm going to put them yet. I guess it doesn't matter as long as Santa fills one important stocking. I'm sure he'll be able to find it when the time comes!

Our friends that we met 2 years ago are moving to Texas. They have a little girl, Abby, the same age as Evan. They also have a 3 month old little boy. Evan and Abby have been friends since they were babies and they are crazy when they are together. We went over to their house tonight to say good-bye since they are leaving tomorrow. I got some good pictures of the two of them playing tonight. They were definitely having a blast. We are bummed that they are leaving but we wish them luck!

Evan Is finally interested in his letters, numbers and puzzles. He really enjoys watching Leap Frog's Letter Factory and making letter sounds. He's saying a few new words...hi, bye bye, boo, and yeah. He recognizes letters and makes the right sound. It's so nice to finally hear his little voice. He has discovered Ernie from Sesame Street and right now that's his favorite thing to watch. Evan is still a busy bee. He's turning into such an interesting and fun little boy (cute too).

Here some pictures I took about a week ago. I was trying to get a good one for our Christmas card. Of course I took a bunch! He doesn't really cooperate for the camera so it's hard to get one where he doesn't look silly or mad.

Yesterday the sheetrock guy came back to sand and today Eric got some primer on the walls! We picked out the paint color...Swiss Coffee (yummy). We didn't want to get crazy with color in there since it's a small room and it doesn't get much light. It's kind of an off white color. I think it will look good! Sometime this week we'll get some paint on the walls and then we'll be ready for the wood floor! It's amazing how fast it's all happened! Hopefully we'll be able to move our computers in there before the end of the year!

Evan recently discovered that he can get out of his shirt. Not exactly take it off but get out of it. I'm sure that he will be able to take it off soon. I just bought a new rug for our living room. I got sick of the other rug that was in there. I was trying to find throw pillows that would blend with the old rug and decided it was time for a change. I moved the old rug into the dining room and it looks great. It has all the red and gold colors that are in there. The new rug has blue and brown. I stepped out of my comfort zone and I am very happy with my decision.

My dad came up again this past weekend to help Eric get further along on the office project. They worked really hard! We now have windows! It's starting to look like a real room!
