One Year Anniversary 4/29/07

I can't believe that it has been one year already! It's crazy how time flies.
Last night, we went to Hennen's for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We both had steak and it was absolutely delicous! It was so good in fact that I was quite uncomfortable after dinner. We had a really nice time.
This morning, Eric made us breakfast. What a great husband!

My Sea Turtle

I just adopted a sea turtle. Her name is Zoe and she is located in the mouth of Rio de la Plata estuary, Uruguay. I will get a certificate of the adoption and I can keep track of her movement. I am very excited!
BTW...if you use GoodSearch.com to search the net, the CCC turtle organization will receive $.01 for every completed search. Check it out!

Here is the site to see where Zoe is.

Rock City Visit

We went to Rock City yesterday. We saw 7 states from the very top including TN, KY, VA, GA, NC, SC and AL. It was beautiful. We really picked a nice day to go.
We walked through small caves and crossed a swinging bridge. That was kinda scary. The kids were little miners and got a lot of shiny treasures. Very exciting! At the end of our hike, we got some sweets from the fudge shop. Yummy! It was another great adventurous day! http://www.seerockcity.com/Flash/Wonders/photos.htm

The Aquarium

Today we had a lot of fun! It started out with the Kids Discovery Museum. There were many hands on things for the boys to do and they got to climb and play in the water. That was a really good time. After that, we all hiked down to the local Nestle Tollhouse store for a treat. It was definitely worth it! Then, we went to the Tennessee Aquarium. This was my favorite part of the day. I got to see turtles and of course I had to buy a turtle shirt! It was a great time but by the end, us adults were complaining of our feet hurting. It was quite a workout.
We saw sharks, stingrays, and lots of fish. Both the boys got to touch the stingrays and the sharks. Yikes!
There was a butterfly garden that was really neat to walk through. It was so beautiful in there. I don't know if it's good luck to have a butterfly land on you but if it is I'm super lucky. I had two land on me while I was in there. That was fun!

Duck Tour

Yesterday, we all went on a Duck Tour. It's basically like a tour bus that drives around downtown and then goes in the water! It was pretty neat and the kids had a blast. Joshua and Jason even got to drive the boat! They looked like pros behind the wheel.

Art Festival

We have family in town visiting this week and yesterday we went to an art festival. Great food, art and beer! I have never seen a truck with keg taps on the side. Apparently, this truck goes downtown every weekend for an event called Night Fall. I think Eric and I are gonna have to get down there sometime.

The boys got their faces painted. Jason on the left got a King Cobra and Joshua got a snake. They had a great time!

So, my mother-in-law, Clenna has a Golden Retriever and as we were all walking around checking things out they spot 2 golden puppies that a girl was carrying. The girl found them in a parking lot and was trying to find a home for them. Clenna quickly volunteered herself and her daughter Tia to take the puupies in. The girl said that she may have someone else that wants them but if not, she would contact Clenna and let her know that she can take them. They are so cute! We think the puppies are about 4-6weeks old. Absolutely adorable!!! Clenna is anxiously waiting for a phone call!

Neighbors

Eric and I were in our new neighborhood and saw this little bunny in someone's yard. Isn't he cute?

Here's a little bird that has made a home in our gutter. Of course he contributes on the rent and helps pay for cable. At least that's the agreement until he moves out.

We Own the House

So, we closed on the house. HOO-RAY!!!! The sellers haven't quite moved out yet. BOO-HOO!!!
It has been a pretty stressful day. Eric and I got to the house this afternoon for a walk through and saw that there was a lot of stuff left in it. We weren't happy about it. It wasn't just a little bit of stuff, there were a bunch of things in closets and kitchen stuff. I couldn't believe it! Most of the time when you close on a house the sellers are out and everything is peachy, but not in our case. They were planning on moving the rest tomorrow and cleaning. I DON'T THINK SO!!!! So anyway, we got it somewhat taken care of. We have a key, they are still packing as I type, AND they have to come by tomorrow to get things out of the garage!!!! Crazy! They acted like this was the norm but I'm sorry, when you have several weeks to pack up and move out, there shouldn't be anything left in the house. DUH!
Well, enough venting for tonight. It has been an exhausting day. We have to rest up because we are getting up early in the morning to get started on our painting party. I can't wait!

House Closing

It looks like Eric and I are gonna close on the house tomorrow, Friday the 13th. I'm not really into superstition but I hope that means good luck. We are both really excited. We have had a few bumps in the road getting to this point but we are almost there. We plan on going over to the house tomorrow evening to get pictures and start destroying the kitchen. That will be the most fun. The kitchen needs A LOT of work. We'll also start painting on Saturday. I already have most of the paint colors picked out. We definitely have a big job ahead of us but it will be worth it in the end. It's gonna be beautiful!!! I hope to post some pictures tomorrow. Until then, I do have some pics of the kitchen at http://remery2.photosite.com/
