Our Master Bathroom

Eric and I finished painting our bathroom last night and got everything back into place today. The color that was in there was a creamy off-white color. I got bored with it and we decided to paint it while Eric is on vacation. The new color is called Liveable Green. It looks so much better! Here are some before and after pictures! They're not the best pictures but you can see the difference.

Warming up to Bard

Evan got a book for Christmas that's called Peek-A-Boo Bard. It's a Baby Einstein book about the seasons. Each page is a different season and there's a button to push and Bard pops out of the book. I thought Evan would like it since he likes pushing buttons. I guess I was wrong. Every time the button is pushed, he jumps and whines. He's still adjusting to the Bard book and brings it to me. Once he gets passed the surprise of Bard, he'll enjoy it. Here's a picture of the book.

Merry Christmas!

So, Santa came last night and brought some goodies for Evan. He didn't really know what to think of everything. He liked unwrapping the gifts and then he would try to put the wrapping paper back on. He played a little with each gift but was still pretty content with the old toys. He got a sit 'n spin, a couple fun books, a whack a ball toy, and his first cell phone! He also got some Magneatos and a bowling kit. He loves anything with balls! Here are some pictures of Evan opening his gifts. There are couple of him wrapped in tinsel that I took the other day.

ENT Appointment

Soooooo, we saw the ENT doctor today and he discovered that Evan does NOT have fluid in his ears! No tubes for Evan!!! WooHoo!! That means that everything is fine and he's not talking because he's just not ready or he doesn't want to. Good to know. I'm glad that's over!

Santa Claus

I took Evan to see Santa for the first time. I was a little concerned about how he would react. Surprisingly, there were no tears (thank goodness) but no smiles either. It was quick and painless. Plus, there was no line so that made easy as well. Here's the picture of Santa and Mr. Serious.

First Time in the Snow

We got some snow overnight and this morning when we woke up, it was white all over. Evan hasn't really experienced snow. Last year it snowed while we were visiting up north but he was too young. So today we bundled him up and took him outside. He touched it and walked around in it but his fun didn't last long. It was cold and his little hands were frozen! I did get a few pics of him checking out the snow.

Evan's 15 month Appt

Today we saw the doctor for Evan's 15 month check-up. Evan is 27lbs. and 33in tall and looks great. At his 12 month check-up, he had fluid in his ears and the fluid has not gone away. The doctor thinks that this could be the cause for him not talking and recommended we see an ENT. So, we have an appointment in December to see what that doctor says. Other than that, the check-up went well and he's doing great!.

Hair Fairy

Yesterday, after Evan woke up from his nap, his hair was a mess! The Hair Fairy visited him in his crib. I took a few pictures of his wild hair. The last one is of him with his silly smile.

Squirrel

On Sunday, I planted some pansies in the backyard planters. Today I caught a squirrel trying to bury a nut in those planters! At this point I don't think a couple of the flowers are going to make it. I got some pictures but a few of them are fuzzy since they were taken from inside.

Quick Evan Update

Evan is getting bigger everyday and understanding more and more. He definitely knows what we're saying but is still not talking. I know that he will but sometimes it's frustrating especially when he's whining and he can't tell me what he wants. I'm sure there will be a day that I'll wish he didn't talk but for now I just want something. Drink, up, outside...something! Ugh!
He has been bringing us books to read to him and that's just been in the last few weeks. He also brings us his toys to show him how they work or to just play with him. He loves it when we chase him around the dining room table and he enjoys Baby Einstein videos. We have been going outside in the afternoons since the weather as been so nice. Evan loves picking up rocks and will have one in each hand as he walks around the yard. I have recently found rocks in and under the couch. I think there are a few in the dining room. So, there are rocks everywhere. He's so silly.
Evan has officially discovered climbing. He has been trying to climb for awhile but recently found his way onto the couch and he loves getting into things. He is definitely our little monkey!

Here are some recent pics of our silly boy!

Halloween Pictures

This year Evan dressed up as a monkey. It was the perfect costume since we always call him monkey. He actually didn't mind wearing it and he looked super cute! We had a couple meltdowns but it was mainly because we wouldn't let him go where he wanted. We went to several houses and he was a trooper. He didn't get a lot of candy which worked out great. We don't need to eat a ton of candy and there's a lot that he can't eat. We had fun and I got some cute pictures of our little monkey.

Some neighbors up the street from us really go all out for Halloween. You can can hear the kids screaming as they leave the house. We did not take Evan to this house since I'm sure Evan would have nightmares the rest of his life. It was definitely fun and a big hit. I was brave enough to walk up to the house and get some pictures. I did not stay long enough to have some monster run after me with a chainsaw. Too scary for me!
