Lula Lake

Eric and I and our neighbors went up to Lula Lake yesterday. We have been there before but our neighbors haven't. Yesterday was absolutely beautiful since Fall has definitely arrived. We took the dogs up there so they could swim and walk around enjoying the different smells. On our way up the mountain, we discovered that Sadie gets car sick. That wasn't a pleasant experience and we weren't ready for it at all. I will leave out the details but all I can say is that it was nasty. On the way up and down she got sick. YUCK!!!! Anyway. We got to the lake and the dogs got to enjoy the water for a little bit. The pictures I took aren't great because I was standing on a slippery rock and almost went in myself. I tried to take the pictures as good and quickly as I could. Tucker had already been in and out by the time I got to the water so I only have pictures of Sadie. My friend that went with us did get a few on her camera. We had a great time and the dogs were exausted when we got home. That always makes me happy!

Sadie

Here's a video of Sadie playing with her squeaky toy. I finally figured out how to get sound on my camera. If you listen closely, you can hear her "happy" growl right before playing. Also, there is a little bit of her making the ball squeak. She's a nut!

Sadie & Tucker's Favorite Toy

We discovered that Sadie really likes squeaky toys. So far we have found one that she can't destroy. It's an oversized tennis ball with a squeak inside. She absolutely loves it. Unfortunately for her, Tucker likes anything that she thinks is fun. He was constantly taking it from her and the funny thing is, he hates squeaky toys. So, we had to go buy more tennis balls so they could both be happy. If we try to give them regular tennis balls, they're no good. They know the difference.
They take these toys with them everywhere and Sadie is always losing hers under the couch. It's funny to see her try to get under there to get the ball. If they both have a ball and Sadie drops hers, Tucker runs over, leaves his and steals hers. It's crazy! I am constantly finding Tucker with both of them and then I have to take one away and give it to Sadie. He's quite stingy when it comes to these toys. I'm the referee and I have to make sure sure they have their silly toys. As long as they're happy, I'm happy.

Chattanooga News

Eric and I were just watching the News and one of the breaking stories was that a plane crashed on Brainard Rd. That's just 2 miles up the street from where we live! We didn't hear anything unusual. The only thing we did hear was just a lot of sirens. I couldn't believe it! Crazy!

B'Day Dinner

We went to dinner tonight to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant is called Provino's. It's a little Italian restaurant near our house. Good food and I got my dinner free because it was my birthday. How great is that?! We definitely had a great weekend.

My Birthday

For my birthday yesterday, Eric got me a pretty saphire necklace. We went together to pick it out. I love it!
After that, we went to Fox and Hound Pub to watch the Florida/Tennessee game with our neighbors Amanda and Tom. It's funny because Amanda's birthday is the day after mine so we got to celebrate together. When the Gators got done making an example of Tn, we went back to our neighbor's house and grilled. Awesome food, drinks and company.
Today we decided to take it easy and I think we may go out to dinner to finish celebrating. A nice end to a great weekdend.

30? No way!

Well, tomorrow I will be 30. Unbelievable! It just seems like yesterday that I was turning 25 and I had just met Eric. Five years later!!!!!!!
We went out to Chili's tonight to have a bite to eat and a couple drinks. It was a nice start to an (Oh my gosh I can't believe I'm 30) weekend! We don't have any big plans but I think we're gonna hang out with our neighbors and maybe go have a nice dinner. It's really not a big deal. I have no problem with being 30 but I can't believe how fast time has gone by. I remember celebrating Eric's 30th birthday and it seems like yesterday. There's no way I can be 30! But......I am! Crazy! Anyway. I plan on having a nice fun day tomorrow and just enjoy myself.

Family Visit

Well, Eric and I had an Open House this past weekend and it went very well. We had a bunch of people come by to see our new house. Lots of food and drink and socializing. Everything went well and the house looked great. My parents and inlaws came into town for the occasion and helped out a lot.
I spent a lot of time shopping with Eric's mom (Clenna) while his dad (Skip) and brother (Alex) worked in our backyard clearing out a lot of old bricks and cutting out bushes. They worked really hard and did a fantastic job! Thank you!!!! It was a nice visit with everyone and I look forward to when we can all get together again.
Yesterday, Clenna, Skip, Alex and I went to Point Park on Lookout Mountain. There are a lot of historical momuments there and you can walk around and enjoy the beautiful scenery. After that, we went to Ruby Falls. Pretty neat place and kinda cold too.

Long Time No Blog

We have been busy getting ready for our open house this Saturday. I have been trying to get this house decorated and presentable for guests. I think I have finally accomplished that. I have a few things that still need to get done but we are so close to being finished.
I rearranged the living room one day after being inspired from a similar room on HGTV's rate my space. I sometimes look at the website to give me decorating ideas. Anyway, the room seems more functional to me now. Before, I felt unsettled and frustrated when I walked into the room. I had some of my artwork framed and we're gonna hang it on one of the walls in the living room.
I also fixed up a little nightstand table that I bought for $20. It was a country blue when I got it and I put a dark brown spray paint on it and touched up the metal with some antique gold paint. That came out great. I'm really happy with it.
