I had my doctor's appointment yesterday. I saw another doctor because mine was on vacation. Without getting into detail, let's just say that I hope I don't have to see him again. Ouch! Everything is looking good and I am progressing well. I found out that I am 3cm dilated so I guess anything could happen or nothing at all. It's still just a waiting game. I am expecting to see my doctor next Monday and I am nervous to hear what she might say. It is definitely getting closer and I am getting a little more anxious but excited. I will keep everyone posted as the days go by.

We went to a shower yesterday that Eric's boss set up for us. It was a great time! Awesome food, people, and gifts. I can't believe what a great boss Eric has. She has been so good to us.
I also took my camera to the shower but I didn't need it. They had one of their friends (who does photography) take pictures during the shower. I can't wait to get them. I'm sure there are a bunch of good ones. It will be nice to do a slideshow sometime of all the pictures she took. It was definitely a great time especially since it was our first baby shower.
We have been cleaning the house and getting ready for company and also getting ready for the baby. It hasn't been a major cleaning session but definitely more than usual. I just wanted the house to be super clean before that baby gets here but it's impossible to really clean the whole house even with Eric's help. Everywhere I look something needs to be cleaned. I had to stop because I felt I was getting out of control. I am done for the day. It looks great and I feel good knowing the house is clean. I have 2 of my girlfriends coming into town this evening. I'm really looking forward to it. I haven't seen them in about a year. They'll be here until the 1st and then they will be heading back to Tampa. I'm so excited to see them!
I have another doctor's appointment tomorrow morning. The last one I had was really no change from the week before. My doctor is out of town this week so I will see a different doctor. I will see my doctor on the 4th and hopefully we'll have a better idea as to what will happen. Have I mentioned that I'm ready?
Here's a picture that I took before we went to the shower.

Yesterday I had another appointment. I am now going to the doctor once a week. Everything is basically the same and she did not schedule anything yet. So, it looks like I still have a few more weeks to go. I am so ready! I feel like this pregnancy is never ending. I want to see the baby and know what it is and just take that next step. It's getting harder to do things and my energy level is poopy and my feet are hurting more and more. It seems as if my due date is never going to get here and I think that's because I'm really looking forward to it. That's how it always works. Something that you look forward to always takes forever. Still, I do know that it will be here before I know it. Very exciting!

So, we went to the doctor today and had our last ultrsound. The baby looks great and is definitely bigger than the last time. The ultrasound shows that the baby weighs about 6 Lbs. 10 Oz. In fact, the baby measures like it's 36 weeks 5 days and I'm really 35 weeks. Pretty interesting huh? Sooooo, right now it looks like we could have the baby around August 5th. Nothing is set in stone yet and we will know more next week when I go back in. That would be in 3 weeks! Crazy!
We got pictures of the baby and another DVD. I will try and put a couple of the ultrsound pictures up tomorrow so everyone can see how much it's changed.

I can't believe I forgot to post what happened to me the other day. I was shopping in Target in the baby section and with me in the isle was a woman and her teenage daughter. Out of now where, the daughter asks me if she could touch my belly. I didn't know what to say. I made a look like "did I hear you correctly and are you nuts?" She was saying how she just liked pregnant bellies and wanted to touch mine. I said "How bizarre?" Her mom asked her daughter "what's wrong with you asking to touch someone's belly?" I kind of did a you're crazy laugh and just kept shopping. The mother turned to her daughter and said let's go. As they were walking away, the mother turned to me and said " I wouldn't want some stranger touching me." They left and I was still standing there looking at stuff feeling shocked at what just happened. Really weird. I have never had anyone I didn't know try or want to touch my belly. I also can't believe that someone would have the nerve to ask a total stranger if they can touch their belly. What's up with people? Very, very odd.

The poor baby has been getting the hiccups these days. So far today it has had them 3 times. I don't think the baby likes them too much being that it moves around alot like it's uncomfortable. It's a funny feeling and can sometimes be annoying if it goes on too long. Pretty funny though. Eric hasn't felt them yet. He's normally not around when it happens. I hope that he will be able to feel them soon just because it's so weird. Some of the movements have gotten stronger. Mainly because there's not much room for the baby. It's kicks have gotten stronger too. Sometimes I just lie down and watch my belly move. It's still gets me giggling.
Only 5 more weeks to go. I went out today to get a few things that I needed. There are so many cute things out there and I can't wait to buy girl or boy things. It will be here soon enough. I'll keep everyone posted on the progress. Right now I've got to go rest my sore feet.

I got the turtles up on the walls yesterday. They are perfect! Don't mind the TV that's in the way. Hopefully that will be out of there soon. Also, there's a picture of a turtle that my grandma crocheted a long time ago. My Aunt Jeannie gave it to us to go with our turtle theme. It's so cute!

There is nothing I can really do to keep the swelling away but I have found that if I stay off my feet as much as I can, they don't swell up as big. Also, by staying off my feet, my hands don't swell up too bad and they don't hurt at night. I had gotten to the point where both my hands and feet were swelling and it was quite painful, especially when I sleep. I still stay pretty active but I just take it easy. Plus, with this heat up here, I don't really want to do much running around anyway. Other than that I'm still doing pretty good. A little tired here and there but I'm not real miserable yet.
Eric and I have another appointment Monday the 14th. This is our big ultrasound and our last one until the baby comes. I'm looking forward to seeing the little munchkin again. Hopefully we can get an idea as to how big the baby is now. I don't think it's going to be a big baby (thank goodness) and I know it's not an exact measurement. Our last ultrasound at 20 weeks showed that the baby looked more like it was 22 weeks. I'm hoping that that was just a growth spurt and now the baby is where it should be. We'll see. I can't wait! Hopefully I will have more pictures to post and possibly a DVD.

Bo & Leslie had a little girl yesterday evening. She is 7lbs. 1oz. and 20 inches long. I was able to go up to the hospital today and see her. She's a pretty little baby. They haven't officially decided on the whole name but they are calling her Page which is Bo's middle name. Hopefully I can get some pictures soon. She is definitely a cutie!
Well, the nursery is almost finished. My parents came up this past weekend and helped us get some things done around here. My mom and I put the baby's room together and it looks great! The curtains and crib skirt came out really nice. My mom added the yellow ball fringe to the curtains and definitely makes a difference. We just need to hang the turtles on the walls and figure out what we're going to do with the futon and TV that's in there. Other than that, it's perfect! Here are a few pictures of the room. I will get more when we get the turtles up.

There's a couple that lives in our neighborhood (Bo & Leslie) and they are having a baby today. Eric and Bo work together. It has definitley been nice having someone else to share this experience with. Her original due date was July 16 which made us 4 weeks apart. They decided to go ahead and induce and now we are waiting for the big news. They also did not find out the sex of the baby. Alot of their friends and family think it's going to be a boy so we'll have to wait and see. She went into the hospital yesterday and they were supposed to start inducing early this morning. I haven't heard anything yet but when I do, I will post the big news. Very exciting!
